Site is now valid

I spent most of yesterday editing all the code on the site and it is now validated. It is now XHTML 1.0 compliant and will work in all browsers. I also added a few new pictures to the gallery.

I hate to plug my Myspace on the blog updates, but my old one got deleted for some unknown reason, and I have a new one here. Just wanted to let people know that may have had me added on my old one, I’ve had to completely start over.

I updated the tour dates with the ones for Australia, added a bunch of new pictures to the gallery, and added a navigation menu to the top of each page for much easier navigation of the site.

New email signup system

Since I’ve been overwhelmed with all the email requests in my inbox, I installed a script where you can now sign up for an account yourself. However, if too many accounts are created and it takes up most of my space, I’ll have to take the sign up form down. I can only give out about 5MB of storage space, so if you like to store things or send large files, use Gmail or Yahoo instead.

This is really important if you have an email account. Something got messed up in the control panel and the email accounts were deleted. I’m working on restoring them, but some of them might still be lost. If you can’t access your account, please email me with the username and password you used so I can set it up again. I’m really sorry about this.

If you’ve tried to access the wallpapers lately you might have noticed they weren’t working. I’m not exactly sure how that happened, but it’s now fixed.

I’ve added a little question script over on the sidebar where you can ask me questions, if there is anything anyone has wanted to ask me.

Something that needs to be said

I’ve seen so many people direct linking to images from this site. Direct linking is stealing the bandwidth that I pay for. Go here for information on hotlinking and why it’s wrong to do. People were direct linking wallpapers, banners, avatars, everything. Take a moment to think about that before being too lazy to save the image and upload it to Photobucket. It says everywhere not to direct link, but people these days can’t be bothered to read anything and have no common courtesy.

Any attempts at direct linking will result in this image being displayed instead. I’ve just had enough of this.

Happy New Year!

First blog update of 2008. Next month is this site’s first birthday! It doesn’t seem like it’s been open that long, but it has. I will continue to try to make the site the best it can be, and I thank everyone for their support. It encourages me to keep going. In the past I’ve run other fansites, but they never got the feedback that I’ve gotten for this site, I’m glad all my very hard work has paid off. I want to keep the site going for more years to come for most importantly the band, and you the fans. Don’t be afraid to comment with ideas and opinions.

I put up a new poll. This one is for which song on Plagues you think should be the next video. Thanks Cassie for that idea. The very first poll on the site was which album did you think was the best? There were a total of 158 votes, 123 people said Plagues, and 35 said Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord.
